What is Smart Lipo? 

SmartLipo is suitable for both men and women and targets small areas of fat accumulation that are usually resistant to diet and exercise. A special laser is first used to melt the fat tissue which is then absorbed and eliminated through your body's natural metabolic processes. The fat loss permanent provided you do not eat excessive calories following treatment. The procedure is very safe as it is virtually non-invasive and it is virtually painless. 


What does the treatment engage ?

First local anaesthetic is injected around the area to be treated in order to numb the skin and surrounding tissue. You will be totally comfortable an awake during the procedure. Following this a tiny cannula (about 1mm) with a laser attached is inserted under the skin into the pockets of fat where it melts the fat cells. However unlike liposuction where the fat is sucked out through the skin with SmartLipo the broken down fat cells removed by your bodies own natural processes and flushed out of your system by your kidneys. This process of elimination takes approximately 5-6 weeks unlike liposuction which is very invasive and can cause significant trauma, laser lipolysis targets fat cells, causing minimal damage to surrounding tissue. One of the major disadvantages with liposuction is that once the fat cells have been sucked out from underneath the skin, the skin that is left over the treated area is often loose and saggy. In fact many patients that have had extensive liposuction need to have surgery to remove the excessive loose skin. With SmartLipo this problem is eliminated as the laser simultaneously tightens the skin from within resulting in firm skin over the treated area. 


What results shall I expect? 

Minimal swelling, bruising or discomfort may be experienced post-treatment. Clients are generally recommended to return to their normal activities almost immediately after the procedure, although it is advisable to avoid strenuous sport and saunas for 1-2 weeks.
You may notice some immediate results however you should see significant effects after 5-6 weeks while final results should be visible with it 2 to 3 months.
