What is Eyebrow microblading?
Microblading is a form of tattooing, however unlike a regular tattoo, "microblading" is a form of tattoo artistry where pigment is implanted under your skin with a manual handheld tool instead of a tattoo gun. The Therapist will draw hair-like strokes with the tool to mimic natural hairs in your eyebrows, while depositing pigment under the skin to produce realistic looking eyebrows. Is microblading a tattoo? Unlike traditional tattoos that last forever, microblading is a form of semi-permanent tattooing. The hairlike strokes aren’t as deeply ingrained into the skin (compared to, say, hairlike strokes created by a tattoo gun). The pigment used in microblading is different to the tattoo, this is because your body eventually removes it and it ends up fading away. The dye particles in the ink used are less concentrated. This allows a softer, more realistic look to your eyebrows. What does the treatment engage ? If you drink a lot of alcohol, take aspirin, or use retinol, this should be stopped one week before your treatment. Retinol makes your skin thin and may cause a little more bleeding. Pain is relative. Some feel more than others. Overall it feels like little scratches. However in order to ease this discomfort before the treatment our therapist will apply a topical anesthetic cream on the patients’ brow and tops up throughout the process to dull the discomfort. What results shall I expect? Some patients experience itching and redness during the first week; however Vaseline can alleviate this sensation. Brows will look slightly darker first, but the colour will fade 30 to 40 percent. Aftercare ointments can be provided by our therapist. Overall the result is amazing right away and you don't have to hide after doing the treatment. Only slight redness and mild swelling can be present in some cases and this is absolutely normal. Does microblading require aftercare?
How long does microblading last? Depending on the skin type, results last from 1 to 3 years. All clients are advised to undergo touch-up sessions accordingly as required. Clients are encouraged to do a follow up after 4 weeks where a touch-up takes place and we make sure that you are happy with the result .
