Ulthera or HIFU Ulthera Therapy
What is Ulthera? Ulthera, or HIFU, is a non-invasive procedure for lifting the tissue of the face and neck. This skin-tightening device utilizes ultrasound technology to gently lift and tighten the skin without a single incision. What makes it unique is that it is the only non-invasive rejuvenation procedure that targets the deep layers of tissue that are addressed by surgeons performing facelift surgery. By targeting the skin’s support system, the Ulthera technology effectively stimulates collagen production and strengthens the underlying tissue. What does the treatment engage ? The Ulthera procedure involves little discomfort in a relatively short treatment session. The doctor will apply a smooth applicator onto the target area. The applicator then delivers a low level of focused heat to the target depth beneath the skin. This ultrasound heat energy stimulates the production of new collagen within your body, causing your skin to gradually tighten and appear lifted and more youthful. Patients may experience slight discomfort during Ulthera while the ultrasound energy is being applied to the skin, but this feeling signals the initiation of collagen production. To ease the discomfort from Ulthera a local anaesthetic is applied to the area before treatment. What results shall I expect? One of the benefits of Ulthera skin tightening is that there is no downtime following the treatment. Most patients return to their daily activities right after their Ulthera session. The treatment area may be red for a few hours after the procedure and you may experience some swelling or tenderness for a few days up to a few weeks. The discomfort is temporary and most patients are thrilled with the Ulthera results |
